This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +16 more states.
• Oversee the monitoring of new and emerging employment regulations across U.S. federal, state, and international jurisdictions.
• Create and maintain a compliance register along with ownership mapping.
• Document, allocate, and track compliance risks and obligations.
• Develop and sustain compliance playbooks and operational standards.
• Assist in international employment compliance governance across various jurisdictions.
• Ensure compliance controls and documentation are audit-ready.
• Coordinate internal and external audit activities, including documentation, evidence organization, and audit response management.
• Aid in the preparation and submission of mandatory government reports, including federal and state workforce filings.
• Act as a subject matter expert and advisory resource regarding compliance requirements.
• Establish and communicate compliance guidelines for operational teams.
• Support the development and implementation of accessible guidance.
• Contribute to compliance education initiatives.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in HR compliance, employment law operations, or a related field, with direct involvement in compliance program management.
• Solid understanding of U.S. employment laws and regulatory frameworks, including FLSA, EEO, FCRA, and related requirements.
• Experience in compliance risk identification, gap assessments, or audit coordination.
• Proven ability to manage HR policy governance processes, including review cycles, version control, and legal alignment.
• Strong organizational and project management abilities, with a successful track record of managing multiple concurrent compliance programs.
• Familiarity with Workday or a similar HRIS.
• Preference for candidates with knowledge of international employment compliance.
• Experience in supporting HR compliance programs in a multi-jurisdictional or global environment is preferred.
• Background in audit readiness, regulatory response, or compliance documentation standards is advantageous.
• Experience in developing compliance playbooks, standard operating procedures, or governance frameworks utilized by HR partners or operational teams is preferred.
