This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.
β’ Oversee cross-divisional activities within the OCFO, acting as a connector who addresses workflow gaps and ensures stakeholders are aligned on common priorities.
β’ Identify operational challenges within OCFO divisions and create actionable strategies to enhance efficiency, standardization, and execution.
β’ Assist with year-end closing activities, manage enterprise financial system operations including FBMS and S4HANA, and support other high-volume financial management processes.
β’ Drive modernization initiatives by pinpointing opportunities to minimize manual processes through SharePoint-driven workflows, Power Apps forms, and AI-enabled document generation tools.
β’ Enhance OCFO's AI readiness by identifying use cases where automation and intelligent tools can boost cost efficiency, speed, and accuracy in financial operations.
β’ Promote data-driven decision-making by enhancing analytical capabilities and providing OCFO leadership with timely, dependable program insights.
β’ Collaborate with bureaus, regional offices, policy teams, audit partners, and external oversight entities to fulfill ongoing and emergent operational needs.
β’ Partner directly with OCFO leadership to enhance visibility, address operational challenges, and further modernization efforts in accounting, financial reporting, acquisitions, grants, and internal assessments.
β’ Proven experience in program management, including the coordination of complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives within a large organizational setting.
β’ Capability to work independently and manage program management tasks across multiple organizational divisions concurrently.
β’ Experience in aligning new processes and initiatives with strategic organizational objectives.
β’ Knowledge of federal financial management environments, including compliance obligations and financial operations cycles.
β’ Proficiency or working familiarity with low-code automation tools such as SharePoint workflows, Power Apps, or equivalent platforms.
β’ Excellent communication and coordination abilities to engage effectively with senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders.
β’ Flexibility to work fully remotely with minimal travel (less than 5%) required to locations such as Reston, VA, Washington, DC, or other Indian Affairs sites as necessary.
β’ Prior experience supporting federal financial management agencies, particularly within the Department of the Interior, Indian Affairs, or similar bureau-level environments.
β’ Hands-on experience with AI readiness, robotic process automation (RPA), or intelligent automation initiatives in a government or regulated enterprise context.
β’ Familiarity with federal financial systems like FBMS or SAP S4HANA.
β’ Background in supporting audit engagements, financial reporting cycles, or management of acquisitions and grants programs.
β’ Experience navigating matrixed or enterprise-wide organizational structures where influencing without direct authority is critical to achieving results.
β’ Fully remote work arrangement.
β’ Rare travel requirement of less than 5%.
