Program Director – Surgical Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee Stepful's Surgical Technology and Sterile Processing programs

• Manage daily operations encompassing online didactic, in-person skills lab, and clinical education segments

• Ensure NCCT program approval and maintain relevant state regulatory compliance

• Perform program evaluation and assessment while fostering continuous improvement

• Recruit, onboard, and supervise full-time, contractor, and adjunct instructors

• Establish quality and performance benchmarks and lead performance calibration efforts

• Mentor and develop team members

• Act as the primary liaison for healthcare employer partners across various states

• Facilitate client site visits and clinical skills calibration

• Assist in program expansion and onboarding of new employer partners

• Collaborate with curriculum teams to enhance content and ensure alignment with industry and employer requirements

• Monitor student progress, provide academic advising, and support program completion

• Explore AI tools and technologies to optimize workflows, reporting, and student outcomes

• Report directly to the Senior Director of Operations

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in teaching surgical technology, including course delivery, assessment, and student support

• Current NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist or NCCT TS-C certification

• More than 5 years of clinical or operational experience in surgical technology, sterile processing, or a related surgical services area

• At least 2 years of experience in healthcare education, training program administration, or a clinical operations role with instructional oversight

• Strong preference for experience with regulatory or certification compliance

• Proven track record in managing or leading a team, including contractors and adjunct instructors

• Experience collaborating with enterprise clients, clinical sites, or healthcare employer partners

• Excellent cross-functional skills for working with instructors, students, clinical partners, and internal teams across multiple states

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced organization where priorities shift and initiative is appreciated

• Experience in EdTech or online/hybrid healthcare training environments is advantageous

• Familiarity with NCCT program reviews, accreditation processes, or state authorization compliance activities is a plus

• Dual certification in surgical technology and sterile processing is a benefit

• Must possess an active, current NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist or NCCT Tech in Surgery - Certified certification

• Required to have 5+ years of experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist in a clinical environment

• Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience teaching surgical technology courses
