Program Director, Practice Education

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Direct the academic program initiatives for site-based learning collaborations at Capella and Strayer universities.

• Ensure the provision of high-quality site-based learning experiences and the achievement of healthcare program outcomes.

• Manage the site-based learning/practice education team, including data collection, quality enhancement, governance, and operational aspects.

• Evaluate program, site-based learning outcomes, and learner experience data to pinpoint areas for improvement.

• Analyze analytical reports, summarize insights and recommendations, and monitor changes that have been implemented.

• Oversee the vetting, approval, administration, and complex affiliation requests for learner sites.

• Ensure that site-based learning procedures comply with accreditation standards and mandates.

• Collaborate with internal cross-functional partners, deans, academic leaders, faculty directors, and external stakeholders.

• Address complex issues related to placements, sites, and administrative matters.

• Manage communications and change initiatives with preceptors, site supervisors, and students.

• Supervise site-based learning orientations and training programs.

• Contribute to specialized accreditation processes, creation of learner manuals, standards, and outcomes assessments.

• Conduct audits to promote continuous quality improvement and ensure learner success.

• Cultivate partnerships with clinical sites and mentor the team on placement best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in higher education, healthcare education, clinical education, practice education, clinical placement operations, or a related area.

• At least 2 years of leadership experience in academic, clinical, workforce development, or healthcare environments.

• Experience in collaborating with healthcare organizations, clinical sites, faculty, preceptors, and other key stakeholders.

• Capability to work effectively within a matrixed organization and spearhead initiatives across various teams and external partners.

• Preferred knowledge of clinical placement processes, affiliation agreements, compliance standards, clinical education technologies, and site partner expectations.

• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite.

• Willingness to travel as necessary.

• An MSN from an accredited Nursing program is required.

• An earned doctorate from a regionally accredited institution in Nursing or closely related fields is mandatory.

• An active, unencumbered Registered Nurse license is required, preferably from a compact state.

• For APRN candidates: Must hold an active Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner License.

• For APRN candidates: Must maintain clinical practice as dictated by state licensure, AANP, and/or ANCC.

• All degrees must be awarded by institutions accredited by agencies recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

• Applicants must have authorization to work in the United States.

• Visa sponsorship is not available.

• Required access to a suitable remote work environment with privacy, reliable internet, phone, and video conferencing capabilities.

• Must be able to work over 40 hours per week when business demands necessitate.
