Program Director – Practice Education

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead and facilitate high-quality site-based learning experiences across healthcare programs at Strayer and Capella Universities.

• Supervise site-based learning and practice education teams, including data collection, quality enhancement, governance, and operations.

• Evaluate program, site-based learning outcomes, and learner experience data to pinpoint areas for improvement.

• Analyze accreditation and institutional analytics reports, compile findings and recommendations, and monitor implemented modifications.

• Manage learner site vetting, approvals, administration, and complex affiliation requests.

• Ensure site-based learning processes align with accreditation mandates and standards.

• Act as a liaison with internal cross-functional teams.

• Address complex placement, site, and administrative challenges.

• Oversee communications and change management with preceptors, site supervisors, and students.

• Manage site-based learning orientations and training programs.

• Contribute to specialized accreditation processes, learner manuals, standards, and outcomes assessments.

• Conduct audits of site-based learning processes to promote continuous quality improvement and learner success.

• Collaborate with deans, assistant/associate deans, program/faculty directors, university departments, Portfolio, and academic leaders.

• Coach and support team members in clinical placement best practices and problem-solving abilities.

• Cultivate clinical site partnerships that enhance learner success and align with organizational goals.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in higher education, healthcare education, clinical education, practice education, clinical placement operations, or a related field.

• At least 2 years of leadership experience in academic, clinical, workforce development, or healthcare environments.

• Experience collaborating with healthcare organizations, clinical sites, faculty, preceptors, and other stakeholders.

• Ability to work effectively within a matrixed organization and lead initiatives across multiple teams, functions, and external partners.

• Preferred knowledge of clinical placement processes, affiliation agreements, compliance requirements, clinical education technologies, and site partner expectations.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Willingness to travel as required.

• An MSN from an accredited Nursing program is required.

• An earned doctorate from a regionally accredited institution in Nursing or closely related fields is required.

• An active, unencumbered Registered Nurse license is preferred, ideally a compact state license.

• For APRN: an active, Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner License is required.

• For APRN: must maintain clinical practice as defined by state licensure, AANP, and/or ANCC.

• All degrees must be conferred from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.

• Must have access to a suitable remote work environment.

• Must be capable of working more than 40 hours per week when business needs arise.

• Must be able to access information using a computer.
