Program Director – Child Welfare

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead and supervise unaccompanied children through Home Study and post-release services.

• Manage all program operations and initiatives that prioritize child safety, well-being, reunification, and community integration.

• Assess and report on key program metrics and contractual obligations.

• Oversee a high-performing team dedicated to serving vulnerable unaccompanied children.

• Direct strategic planning, implementation of multi-state programs, staff management, and overall administrative functions.

• Collaborate with the leadership team to establish program functions and reporting duties.

• Conduct continuous program evaluations and assess recommendations against objectives, growth, and quality standards.

• Ensure that supervisors set achievable program goals and objectives.

• Liaise with ORR officials and necessary partners regarding service delivery, consultation, and quality assurance reporting.

• Promote program accountability and monitor compliance with ORR, contractual agreements, relevant laws and regulations, as well as fiscal/auditory standards.

• Coordinate both programmatic and financial aspects.

• Develop and submit reports on outcomes, deliverables, financials, and compliance metrics.

• Supervise and support program staff while cultivating a trauma-informed, mission-driven culture.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or a relevant field (such as education, psychology, sociology, or behavioral science).

• Over 5 years of experience in child welfare administration or child protective services (CPS).

• At least 2 years of experience in program management or at a director level.

• Advanced experience in financial and supervisory project management.

• Familiarity with local community social services.

• Experience with home study, post-release services, or both.

• Background working with immigrant populations.

• Knowledge of family preservation, kinship care, and child welfare.

• Proficient in professional assessment report writing.

• Experience in child welfare and case management.

• Capability to obtain and maintain a Federal Public Trust clearance/suitability determination.

• Must currently reside in and be authorized to work in the United States.

• Willingness to work evenings and weekends in a supervisory/management capacity as necessary.

• Generally available Monday–Friday during standard business hours, with schedules adjusting as project demands arise.
