Production Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Assist with production-accounting functions and oversee general operations budgets under the guidance of the Senior Production Accountant.

• Collaborate with Line Producers, Production Managers, and vendors to ensure accurate forecasting, tracking, and reporting of production expenses.

• Monitor and classify invoices and production expenses utilizing the Client's production chart of accounts.

• Deliver precise actuals and forecast updates.

• Generate and circulate cost reports consistently and in a timely manner.

• Recognize and highlight potential budgetary risks or opportunities.

• Calculate and revise cash flow pacing as needed.

• Coordinate with Riot’s and the Client’s purchasing teams to onboard vendors in purchasing systems, request contracts, and manage invoice issuance.

• Collaborate with Accounts Payable teams to ensure prompt payment of Purchase Orders.

• Conduct ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required.

• Provide support to Studio Production Management teams.

• Mentor and guide junior team members.

• Carry out other job-related responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in Finance/Accounting with a strong focus on budgeting, cost tracking, and audit/control functions.

• Proven capability to establish and implement workflows in a dynamic and creative setting.

• Ability to communicate financial compliance needs and stringent deadlines effectively to non-financial stakeholders, including Producers and Creative Leads.

• High level of accuracy in data entry with the skill to identify discrepancies within large and complex datasets.

• Strong prioritization skills, proactive approach, and attention to detail.

• Familiarity with Airtable is essential.

• Proficient in Google tools, including Drive, Docs, and Sheets.

• Capability to manage confidential and sensitive information with a high degree of discretion.

• A valid passport is mandatory.

• Experience in studio/live events and/or esports is advantageous.

• Familiarity with media budgeting software such as Move Magic, Media Web, Showbiz, and Coupa.

• Knowledge of IronClad, Slack, and Notion is a plus.

• Demonstrated interest and experience in emerging technologies, including AI and automation, is beneficial.

• Experience in payroll processing and understanding labor laws.

• A Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related business field is required.

• Previous experience in onboarding and mentoring junior staff members.
