Product Support Advisor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +10 more states.

📋 Description

• Implement Category Management and related initiatives within designated categories.

• Contribute to category success and overall support for corporate core suppliers.

• Maintain communication with planners, suppliers, brokers, the sales team, and customer service.

• Oversee and promote local product assortment within assigned categories to meet company objectives.

• Manage relationships with local suppliers and brokers.

• Offer input, assistance, and direction to OpCo Sales Specialists.

• Conduct corporate assortment training at the OpCo as necessary.

• Perform local supplier evaluations and negotiations following corporate best practices.

• Secure supplier-funded customer deviated pricing through negotiation.

• Facilitate negotiations and oversee local Earned Income programs.

• Manage and assess company Earned Income components.

• Collaborate with supplier Category Captains or Advisors for focus categories when needed.

• Aid inventory depletion by identifying discontinued items and helping negotiate product returns with suppliers.

• Drive results for focus categories and support promotional activities and sales events.

• Act as the primary contact for local sales and assist the sales team with any issues.

• Develop new items and vendors.

• Promote increased Sysco Brand sales.

• Oversee category equities and market pricing alongside the Revenue Management team.

• Collaborate on the Sales and GP results associated with Market Cost Price changes.

• Provide the sales organization with market commodity and industry news and updates.

• Assist high-end customer order fulfillment and manage inventory effectively.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or a comparable combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform essential job functions.

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

• Experience in a retail, wholesale, or distribution setting.

• Ability to manage conflicts and achieve quick resolutions through facts and dialogue.

• Capacity to handle multiple tasks in a high-paced environment.

• Ability to drive positive merchandising changes.

• Capability to work with all organizational levels and collaborate with dotted line reporting.

• Skill in collaborating and ensuring timely communication.

• Ability to work across various functions.

• Proactive approach to identify and address issues as they arise.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong organizational and planning abilities.

• Proficient in executing all Merchandising standard processes.

• Strong negotiation skills with suppliers and the ability to establish professional working relationships with suppliers and brokers.

• Advanced Excel skills.
