This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the product backlog, ensuring that priorities are transparent, actionable, and aligned with product goals.
• Convert customer feedback, institutional requirements, and product strategies into user stories, acceptance criteria, and actionable requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering and design teams to clarify requirements and facilitate effective delivery.
• Work alongside Product Management to refine priorities, assess opportunities, and validate product outcomes.
• Engage in release planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and other Agile ceremonies.
• Advocate for customer and user needs within the delivery team.
• Gain insights into research administration workflows and identify enhancements for user experience.
• Balance the needs of customers, technical aspects, business priorities, and delivery constraints.
• Utilize product data, customer insights, and other information to guide prioritization and assess outcomes.
• Contribute to the continuous enhancement of product development processes and team performance.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, Design, and customer-facing teams.
• A Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Over 3 years of experience in product ownership, business analysis, software delivery, or a related role.
• Professional experience in research administration within a software organization, university, research institution, laboratory, sponsored programs office, or similar environments.
• Strong grasp of Agile software development methodologies and backlog management.
• Experience in translating intricate workflows, customer feedback, and business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, and actionable requirements.
• Ability to work collaboratively with engineering, product, design, and customer-facing teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail and overall product objectives.
• Experience working effectively with distributed teams.
• Familiarity with SaaS or enterprise software tailored for higher education, research institutions, or complex organizations.
• Understanding of research administration, grant management, ERP, HRIS, financial, or other enterprise systems.
• Awareness of compliance and administrative requirements faced by research institutions.
• Proficient in using product management, backlog management, and collaboration tools.
• Comfortable working with product data and metrics to aid prioritization and decision-making.
• This role is remote within the United States.
• Occasional travel may be required.
• Base salary range of $110,000 to $125,000.
