Product Owner, Intermediate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee internal technical product operations and the execution of Agile methodologies.

• Collaborate across departments with engineering to develop and launch features for Smile’s FHIR-based healthcare data platform.

• Convert market strategies and roadmaps into actionable development plans and Quarterly Workplans.

• Guide products through the Smile Product Realization Process.

• Partner with Marketing, Revenue Operations, Licensing, Training, Legal, and other teams.

• Manage the product backlog and maintain a monthly/quarterly rhythm.

• Create user stories and define acceptance criteria.

• Prioritize feature development and plan iterations effectively.

• Facilitate Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives.

• Identify and eliminate technical and organizational obstacles.

• Mentor teams in Agile methodologies and Scrum best practices.

• Set clear expectations with customers and development teams regarding priorities and requirements.

• Maintain a deep understanding of product offerings, target clients, capabilities, limitations, and system interdependencies.

• Assess the feasibility of requirements.

• Monitor, analyze, and report on team velocity, sprint progress, and Agile metrics.

• Address client needs and complaints while providing solutions or alternatives.

• Communicate the product vision and sprint objectives effectively.

• Direct product decisions through user testing and iterative feedback.

• Collaborate on resource planning and achieving goals.

• Enhance processes and tools that support product management and Agile delivery.

• Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years in technical product management, product ownership, and/or related product management experience, coupled with a strong grasp of the software development lifecycle.

• Post-secondary education in a relevant field and/or equivalent professional experience.

• A user-centric approach throughout the product development lifecycle.

• Familiarity with user testing and validation methods.

• Strong collaborative skills with clients, UX specialists, engineers, sales, marketing, and other key stakeholders.

• Experience in consultative roles that involve client interaction in product development or management.

• Demonstrated critical thinking and a solution-oriented attitude.

• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven.

• Strong time management abilities.

• Excellent communication skills with the capacity to influence and guide solutions.

• Proficiency in translating complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.

• Preferred formal training in a recognized product management framework.

• Experience in software architecture/development or technical implementation is preferred.

• A solid understanding of technical/data terminology is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with APIs, FHIR, HL7 v2, SMART on FHIR, OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, LDAP, Master Data Management, Channels, Subscriptions, Interceptors, healthcare data modeling, mapping, migration, integration, ETL, CDA, EMPI, LOINC, SNOMED, UCUM, ICD-10, consent management, and clinical reasoning is preferred.
