Product Owner, Intermediate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee internal technical product operations and Agile execution.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and launch product features.

• Convert market strategies and roadmaps into actionable development plans and Quarterly Workplans.

• Guide products through the Smile Product Realization Process.

• Work alongside Marketing, Revenue Operations, Licensing, Training, Legal, and other departments.

• Manage the product backlog and maintain a monthly/quarterly cadence.

• Craft user stories and acceptance criteria, prioritize feature development, and plan iterations.

• Reduce engineering roadblocks and ensure teams are aligned with the product vision.

• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives.

• Act as the technical subject matter expert for assigned product suites.

• Coach cross-functional teams in Agile methodologies and Scrum best practices.

• Set expectations with customers and development teams regarding priorities and product requirements.

• Assess requirement feasibility based on product capabilities and limitations.

• Monitor, analyze, and communicate team velocity, sprint progress, and Agile metrics.

• Address client needs and complaints with practical solutions or alternatives.

• Share product vision and sprint goals across the broader team.

• Guide product decisions through user testing and iterative feedback.

• Collaborate on resource planning and goal achievement.

• Identify and enhance product management and Agile delivery processes and tools.

• Assist in the hiring and onboarding of new team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in technical product management, product ownership, and/or related product management roles, with a strong grasp of the software development lifecycle.

• Post-secondary education in a relevant field and/or equivalent professional experience.

• A user-centric mindset throughout the product development process.

• Proficient in user testing and validation techniques.

• Experience collaborating with clients, UX specialists, engineers, sales, marketing, and other key stakeholders.

• Consultative experience in client-facing roles in product development or management.

• Strong critical thinking and solution-oriented mindset.

• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

• Self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven approach.

• Effective time-management skills.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and guide solutions.

• Capacity to translate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

• Formal training in a recognized product management framework is preferred.

• Experience in software architecture/development or technical implementation is preferred.

• Strong understanding of technical/data terminology is highly preferred.

• Familiarity with APIs, FHIR/HAPI FHIR, HL7 v2, SMART on FHIR, OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, LDAP, Master Data Management, Channels, Subscriptions, Interceptors, healthcare data modeling/mapping/migration/integration/ETL, CDA, EMPI, terminology standards (LOINC, SNOMED, UCUM, ICD-10), consent management, and clinical reasoning is preferred.
