Product Owner – Insurance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Transform strategy into a prioritized backlog comprising features and user stories.

• Offer clear systems-analysis insights and provide high-value product increments.

• Take ownership of story refinement, backlog management, sprint readiness, acceptance criteria, UAT coordination, and outcome-focused prioritization.

• Lead sprint and PI planning within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

• Validate stories and facilitate delivery through deployment processes.

• Make decisions regarding delivery, acceptance, sign-off, and approvals, including the final sign-off on team functionality.

• Implement Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe frameworks.

• Organize daily stand-ups, refinement sessions, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives.

• Collaborate with RTE, business leaders, architecture, and engineering teams on program-level delivery.

• Maintain documentation and reinforce established processes.

• Oversee intake, prioritization, refinement, release readiness, UAT, and approval for production deployment.

• Ensure alignment between agile delivery, UX, QA, Compliance, and Engineering teams.

• Resolve conflicts, dependencies, and delivery risks in partnership with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

• Collaborate with Engineering and business stakeholders to define issues, validate feasibility, and establish outcomes.

• Deliver prioritized backlogs, manage defects, create user stories, define acceptance criteria, and develop release and UAT plans, including final approvals.

• Propel continuous improvement via post-mortem analysis.

• Translate business needs into technically feasible requirements.

• Execute other related duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience from an accredited institution.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in Product, Business Analysis, or Systems Analysis.

• Proficiency in backlog management, agile delivery, program increment planning, and cross-team coordination.

• Experience in the insurance industry is mandatory.

• Stop-Loss experience is highly preferred.

• SAFe or Scrum certifications are advantageous.

• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.

• Knowledge of best practices in product ownership.

• Exceptional collaboration, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with meticulous attention to detail.

• Excellent communication abilities, stakeholder alignment, and conflict resolution skills.

• Capability to manage multiple projects concurrently, drive results, and prioritize effectively.

• Proficient technical writing skills.
