Product Owner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of the product backlog from start to finish across the Epic → Feature → User Story → Task structure in Azure DevOps, ensuring that each item is refined, prioritized, and aligned with release objectives before development commences.

• Act as the primary voice for field end users by converting operational realities from dispatch, logistics, driver operations, finance, and HR into actionable user stories with distinct acceptance criteria.

• Review and approve user stories prior to the handoff to development in order to preserve scope integrity and ensure delivery quality.

• Lead User Acceptance Testing for each release cycle, which includes defining scope and priorities, coordinating with end-user testers, tracking and resolving defects, and providing formal UAT signoff.

• Recommend go/no-go decisions for releases based on feature alignment, UAT results, and readiness criteria.

• Maintain a Requirements Traceability Matrix that links contract and SOW obligations to the delivered and tested functionalities.

• Monitor development effort hours against the contracted scope, identify potential capacity or scope risks, and escalate issues to leadership.

• Generate client-facing status reports, roadmap updates, and traceability dashboards; audit vendor reporting in relation to Azure DevOps actuals.

• Collaborate with the external development vendor’s BA, development, and QA leads to facilitate handoffs, manage change requests, and ensure the delivery pipeline remains active throughout sprint ceremonies.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Product Owner, Senior Business Analyst, or in a similar role on custom software delivery projects, demonstrating ownership of the complete product delivery lifecycle.

• Established ability to craft well-structured user stories and acceptance criteria, manage and prioritize a product backlog, and facilitate sprint ceremonies within an agile/Scrum framework.

• Hands-on expertise with Azure DevOps or a similar tool (e.g., Jira), including work-item hierarchies, queries, and dashboards utilized to monitor delivery status.

• Direct experience in planning and executing User Acceptance Testing, encompassing defect management, end-user coordination, and formal sign-off processes.

• Experience in maintaining requirements traceability aligned with a contract, SOW, or regulatory framework, along with an understanding of audit and compliance documentation expectations.

• Experience working with or managing an outsourced or vendor development team in a structured agile delivery environment.

• Strong written communication skills with the capability to produce polished, client-ready reports, documentation, and stakeholder updates independently.

• CSPO, PSPO, or equivalent product owner certification; experience with mobile and web products; familiarity with change control and release management; and domain experience in disaster response, emergency management, field or logistics operations, workforce management, or fleet and asset tracking are desirable.
