This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Assume complete responsibility for both web and mobile applications, encompassing customer interactions and problem definition to requirements, design, and production metrics.
• Lead the product roadmap by determining priorities on what to develop next and what to forgo, in collaboration with sales, operations, and leadership teams.
• Collaborate closely with engineering to articulate product requirements and justifications, maintaining involvement throughout the implementation phase.
• Engage with African importers and exporters, ranging from small and medium-sized enterprises to multinational corporations, as well as sales and operations teams in the field.
• Create dependable, robust, and scalable workflows that account for failure and transaction delays.
• Assist in expanding Kappa’s cross-border payments platform throughout Africa and into new markets.
• Over 5 years of experience in product management.
• Required experience in fintech products related to payments, lending, or banking.
• Experience in cross-border payments is advantageous.
• Familiarity with developing products in emerging markets is a plus.
• Proficiency in payments concepts such as settlement, reconciliation, chargebacks, RFIs, treasury, and liquidity.
• Knowledge of KYC, AML, and licensing limitations in product design.
• Capability to draft clear product specifications that outline problems, customer needs, success criteria, and constraints.
• Sound product design judgment and the ability to justify design decisions based on customer objectives.
• Skill in producing product flows using AI-powered tools like Pen.dev and Claude Design.
• Ability to interpret API schemas or contracts and engage in architectural discussions.
• Competence in identifying underlying technical complexities and differentiating between challenging and straightforward implementation tasks.
• Proficient in communicating effectively with both executives and engineers, including edge case considerations.
