This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Develop and implement the vision, strategy, and roadmap for enterprise data products.
• Discover high-value opportunities by evaluating business needs, data environments, and organizational challenges.
• Align data product projects with enterprise architecture strategies and organizational objectives.
• Oversee the complete lifecycle of data products, from conception through deployment, enhancement, and decommissioning.
• Collaborate with data engineering and data science teams to create scalable data pipelines, models, and services.
• Convert business requirements into data transformations, metadata structures, and domain-specific data regulations.
• Ensure data products uphold high standards for quality, governance, documentation, lineage, and scalability.
• Act as the main liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Convey product roadmaps, value propositions, priorities, and results to leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Establish product success metrics and assess adoption, performance, and business impact.
• Assist in the creation of dashboards, KPIs, reporting frameworks, and analytics solutions.
• Advocate for responsible data usage, privacy compliance, governance standards, and ethical AI practices.
• Provide knowledge transfer and mentorship to teams throughout the product lifecycle.
• Lead a significant data modernization initiative for a large public-sector organization.
• Over 8 years of experience in Data Product Management, Data Management, Data Analytics, Data Engineering, or related fields.
• Demonstrated ability to lead products and teams in complex and dynamic environments.
• Strong knowledge of data architecture, data modeling, warehousing, metadata management, governance, and data pipelines.
• Experience working with Data Architects, Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Analytics teams.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to convert technical concepts into business terminology.
• Proven experience in developing and managing product roadmaps and prioritization frameworks.
• Proficient in SQL and data pipeline technologies.
• Practical experience with data lakes, ETL processes, and enterprise data platforms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, focusing on measurable business outcomes.
• Extensive experience with Databricks.
• Familiarity with tools such as dbt, Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or Google Analytics.
• Knowledge of Python and Java is a plus.
• Experience implementing modern enterprise data architectures.
• Background in creating internal platforms or developer-focused products.
• Experience in a highly regulated industry involving reporting, compliance, and statistical analysis.
• Understanding of data-sharing agreements and large-scale organizational data-sharing limitations.
• Experience supporting cloud-based data modernization efforts.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Equivalent combinations of education and relevant professional experience will be accepted.
• Certifications in Product Management, Data Management, Cloud, or Analytics are beneficial.
• Proficiency in English is essential.
