Product Manager – Vendor Oversight

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the strategy, vision, operating model, and roadmap for designated products, capabilities, or enterprise transformation initiatives.

• Convert business, customer, regulatory, operational, and technology goals into prioritized, phased delivery plans.

• Set up governance structures, milestones, readiness criteria, success metrics, review schedules, decision-making protocols, and reporting systems.

• Prioritize tasks based on business value, risk, readiness, resource availability, data accessibility, funding, release schedules, dependencies, and vendor obligations.

• Mentor Product Owners, analysts, and delivery teams on backlog direction, priority setting, desired outcomes, and definitions of completion.

• Oversee readiness initiatives, including requirements gathering, contracting, access management, environment setup, data availability, connectivity, and testing.

• Supervise testing, business validation, implementation readiness, cutover or go-live processes, and business approvals.

• Maintain a consolidated log of risks, issues, dependencies, decisions, and action items; escalate obstacles and facilitate their resolution.

• Provide exception-based reports on at-risk, blocked, or pending workstreams, vendors, data domains, and decisions.

• Track outcomes, defects, service performance, and issue resolution during hypercare and stabilization phases.

• Transition implemented products, capabilities, data, or vendor oversight responsibilities to operational owners.

• Ensure adherence to regulatory, privacy, security, contractual, and organizational mandates.

• Counsel business owners, technology partners, vendors, and executive leadership on product strategy, readiness, and performance metrics.

• Manage stakeholder expectations regarding roadmap trade-offs, delivery risks, dependencies, scope, and timelines.

• Execute additional job-related tasks as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in business, information systems, computer science, supply chain, healthcare administration, or a related field is required.

• Equivalent years of relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of the required educational credentials.

• A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in product management, program management, program delivery, vendor management, data management, business analysis, or similar roles is required.

• At least three (3) years of experience in leading cross-functional enterprise implementations, integrations, transformations, or operating model initiatives is required.

• Proven experience in developing multi-program or multi-domain roadmaps and governance or operating models.

• Experience within the healthcare payer or managed care sector is preferred.

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies or governance-driven delivery environments is advantageous.

• Exposure to vendor integration, data migration, platform implementation, core system conversion, legacy modernization, or cloud migration initiatives is preferred.

• A strong grasp of Product Management principles and practices is essential.

• Knowledge of Responsible AI, AI governance, risk management, and compliance standards is necessary.

• Ability to translate intricate technical concepts into business-oriented recommendations.

• Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving skills are required.

• Strong analytical capabilities and data-driven decision-making skills are essential.

• Capability to prioritize competing initiatives and navigate ambiguity.

• Proficient in facilitating cross-functional collaboration.

• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft 365, analytics, and AI-enabled productivity tools.

• Ability to evaluate emerging technologies and identify their business applications.

• General office environment; may require prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
