Product Manager, Search

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Establish and propel the long-term vision and roadmap for Airbnb search, which encompasses natural-language processing, conversational search, query comprehension, and intelligent ranking.

• Take ownership of the complete guest search experience, from the initial expressed intent to discovering the most suitable options.

• Collaborate with engineering, applied machine learning, and data science teams to conceptualize, prototype, and deliver AI-enhanced search experiences.

• Employ quantitative analysis and A/B testing to confirm enhancements in relevance, conversion rates, and guest satisfaction.

• Convert ambiguous guest challenges into prioritized product specifications.

• Work alongside design and research teams to comprehend guest search behaviors and pinpoint opportunities for AI to minimize friction.

• Engage cross-functionally with Host-side and Trust teams to ensure accurate and fair inventory presentation.

• Articulate the roadmap, results, and trade-offs to engineering partners and leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in consumer product management with comprehensive product ownership.

• Strong preference for experience in search, discovery, ranking, or recommendation systems.

• Enthusiasm for leveraging contemporary AI and ML capabilities, including large language models, semantic search, and conversational interfaces.

• Robust business acumen with the ability to utilize data, research, and experimentation in formulating product strategies and decisions.

• Capability to closely collaborate with ML/data science teams and understand model-driven product trade-offs.

• Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and collaboration abilities across engineering, design, data science, and other interdisciplinary teams.

• User-centered approach focused on understanding how guests search and identifying areas of friction.
