Product Manager, Optimizer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Interact with customers to identify opportunities for enhancing K12 school scheduling.

• Explore optimizer technology and the scheduling field to support crucial decisions alongside Engineering.

• Collaborate with Engineering to enhance the core algorithms of the optimizer, model-builders, and orchestration pipeline.

• Design and carry out experiments to evaluate changes in the optimizer.

• Establish performance and quality metrics, including feasibility rate, schedule quality scores, solve time, and constraint violations.

• Develop product requirements for the optimizer and refine new product features.

• Work alongside Engineering and AI agents to translate requirements into well-defined stories.

• Utilize AI to link requirements, story definitions, and development processes.

• Create and implement a vision for generative AI in the realm of algorithmic schedule optimization.

• Oversee the complete experience for school schedulers interacting with the optimizer.

• Present results, trade-offs, and any infeasible or sub-optimal solutions.

• Facilitate goal- and metric-setting initiatives with Engineering.

• Establish and adjust milestones, uphold standards, and concentrate the team on impactful outcomes.

• Convey product and technology decisions to both internal and external stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in B2B SaaS product organizations.

• At least 3 years in a Product Manager role.

• Experience with products that have an algorithmic, decision-support, or operations research foundation.

• Proficient in data analysis and metric design.

• Capable of designing experiments and interpreting their outcomes.

• Strong skills in user-centric story writing.

• Proficiency with agile toolsets like Jira, Notion, and Miro.

• Proven experience utilizing AI-enabled software development life cycle (SDLC) practices.

• A collaborative, detail-oriented problem solver.

• Strong visual communication skills, including the ability to create mockups, sketches, diagrams, or journey maps.

• Nice-to-have: experience in the EdTech sector and/or education field.

• Nice-to-have: familiarity with optimization, decision-support systems, constraint satisfaction, or algorithmic products.

• Nice-to-have: knowledge of A/B testing or experimentation frameworks.

• Nice-to-have: background in operations research or a technical discipline.

• Must specify whether sponsorship for United States work authorization will be needed.
