Product Manager III

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Implement agile methodologies to enhance cross-functional workflows and facilitate the iterative delivery of products and features.

• Collaborate with product leadership and client/product owners to define the vision and strategy for products or programs.

• Promote the adoption of iterative, outcome-focused processes.

• Utilize a consultative product management approach with both clients and internal teams.

• Partner with clients to formulate visions and strategies for products, processes, and programs.

• Assist with tactical program assignments and strategic initiatives to fulfill delivery requirements.

• Break down complex problems, foster consensus, and help set the course for product development and deployment.

• Lead agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and team retrospectives.

• Convey complex technical and business issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Create and maintain product documentation, such as product briefs, outlines, release plans, and presentations.

• Mentor and coach junior-level team members.

• Identify risks, communicate them to leadership, and propose mitigation strategies.

• Develop and oversee product roadmaps and related artifacts.

• Collaborate with Veterans Affairs stakeholders to deliver digital services focused on Veterans, their families, caregivers, and VA employees.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and over 5 years of relevant experience.

• Relevant years of experience may be considered in lieu of education.

• More than 3 years of experience in product management, product ownership, or related product delivery roles.

• Proven experience in Agile product development environments and supporting iterative product delivery.

• Experienced in developing and maintaining product roadmaps, backlogs, product requirements, and other documentation.

• Skilled in facilitating Agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, research, and other product stakeholders.

• Ability to gather and translate business, user, and stakeholder needs into actionable product requirements and priorities.

• Experience working directly with clients, customers, or stakeholders to support product vision, strategy, and delivery.

• Proven ability to identify and communicate product or delivery risks and suggest appropriate mitigation strategies.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical and business concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Prior experience in mentoring or guiding junior-level team members.

• Preferred: experience in supporting digital products or services within federal government or public-sector settings.

• Preferred: experience working with multidisciplinary digital services teams.

• Ability to obtain and maintain one or more of the following certifications: Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Certified Product Manager (CPM), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), or other related product or Agile certifications.
