Product Manager II – Financial Data

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and enhance AlphaSense's exclusive financial data taxonomy across various sectors, accounting standards, statements, and reporting frameworks.

• Establish how rules for financial data generation are applicable across different sectors and data types.

• Act as the internal authority on financial data generation and presentation.

• Create and uphold official documentation for both internal and external data standards.

• Collaborate with engineering, research, product, sales, and client-facing teams to synchronize stakeholders and convert rules into precise, relevant datasets.

• Detect gaps and inconsistencies in newly integrated companies, metrics, and datasets, and manage resolutions.

• Define use cases and requirements for new financial datasets that extend beyond the three core financial statements.

• Design and sustain AI- and LLM-compatible financial data structures and taxonomy.

• Develop repeatable frameworks and processes to ensure scalable financial data accuracy, relevance, and growth.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related analytical field.

• Over 5 years of experience in working with data structures, taxonomy, or data governance.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in product management or a closely related cross-functional role.

• A genuine interest in financial data and capital markets.

• An understanding of how investors and financial professionals utilize, interpret, and act on data.

• A proven analytical mindset with the ability to convert complex, ambiguous data challenges into structured frameworks and scalable solutions.

• Practical experience utilizing AI and LLM tools in an internal capacity.

• A curiosity about how financial data consumers incorporate AI into their daily workflows.

• Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.

• Capability to manage multiple workstreams and competing priorities independently.

• Proficiency in SQL and Python.

• A willingness to expand the data management toolkit as the role progresses.
