This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +11 more states.
• Take ownership of the complete self-service conversion process, including signup, onboarding, activation, trial, and paid conversion.
• Recognize behaviors, sequences, and timing that set successful customers apart, and establish common activation and conversion metrics.
• Conduct analyses on funnels, cohorts, retention, segmentation, and user pathways.
• Convert product-behavior insights into prioritized recommendations in collaboration with product and go-to-market teams.
• Evaluate outcomes post-launch of changes.
• Analyze competitors’ strategies for acquisition, onboarding, activation, pricing, packaging, and monetization.
• Spot category trends, identify helpful patterns, and highlight areas for competitive advantage.
• Develop and sustain a self-service market opportunity model that encompasses segment size, current positioning, growth prospects, assumptions, and sensitivities.
• Keep leadership updated on significant shifts within the ESP category, including deliverability, authentication, AI-driven products, pricing, and packaging.
• Provide data-driven support for decisions regarding plans, paywalls, and upgrade pathways.
• Analyze product metrics while clarifying data limitations and proposing actionable recommendations.
• Collaborate with teams across Product, Marketing, Design, Sales, Customer Success, and engineering teams based in Australia across various time zones.
• Over 5 years of experience in product management, with significant ownership of or influence over processes such as signup, onboarding, activation, trial conversion, or monetization in a product-led, self-service environment.
• Practical product analytics experience; familiarity with Amplitude is highly preferred.
• Capability to independently create and interpret funnels, cohorts, retention, segmentation, and user pathways.
• Strong skills in quantitative modeling and market sizing.
• Ability to clearly articulate assumptions and limitations.
• Experience in analyzing competitors’ products and business models, and deriving practical insights from changes in the category.
• Proven track record of influencing others without direct authority.
• Proficient in communicating complex findings to senior stakeholders, defending well-reasoned recommendations, and fostering productive cross-functional relationships.
• Self-motivated approach to broadly defined objectives, with ownership from discovery through to measured outcomes.
• Ability to regularly collaborate with colleagues in Australia during overlapping AEST/AEDT working hours.
• Practical experience with AI tools for research and synthesis, demonstrating sound judgment regarding their reliability and limitations.
• Experience in email marketing, marketing automation, martech, or the ESP sector, particularly serving SMB or low-touch customers (preferred).
• Experience in implementing changes in pricing or packaging for a self-service product (preferred).
• Familiarity with working in a globally distributed product organization (preferred).
