Product Manager, Global – Oil-Flooded Compressors

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Formulate and implement the global product strategy, vision, and multi-year roadmap for the Sullair Oil-Flooded compressor portfolio.

• Oversee the entire product lifecycle, which includes new product launches, growth strategies, optimization, rationalization, and end-of-life planning.

• Direct Voice of Customer initiatives to uncover unmet customer needs, market trends, and opportunities for product enhancement.

• Develop and manage global pricing, positioning, and portfolio strategies to support revenue growth and margin improvement.

• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Procurement on new product development, cost-saving initiatives, and Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE).

• Assist in demand forecasting, Sales & Operations Planning, and inventory management.

• Spearhead global product launches, commercialization efforts, market adoption, and achievement of business-case goals.

• Track revenue, profitability, pricing realization, and return on investment.

• Align global and regional stakeholders on product strategy, roadmap priorities, investments, and market demands.

• Evaluate sales performance, market penetration, and channel effectiveness to identify growth and market-share opportunities.

• Collect and analyze market, customer, competitive, and industry intelligence.

• Conduct competitive benchmarking and analyses for product positioning.

• Create aftermarket growth strategies encompassing services, parts, upgrades, and lifecycle value.

• Act as the product champion and provide train-the-trainer support across various regions.

• Offer technical and commercial assistance to Sales, Service, Customer Support, Marketing, and Operations teams.

• Facilitate customer engagement, channel partner development, industry events, and promotional activities.

• Develop business cases and investment proposals for new products, enhancements, and strategic growth initiatives.

• Establish and monitor KPIs for portfolio health, product success, customer satisfaction, and business performance.

• Work alongside Marketing and Communications to develop value propositions, messaging, sales tools, and go-to-market strategies.

• Ensure adherence to product regulations, industry standards, and sustainability initiatives across global markets.

• Abide by Hitachi Global Air Power US Code of Ethics, safety regulations, and workplace safety standards.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.

• 5 to 10 years of experience in product management within industrial or capital equipment sectors.

• Experience in compressed air product management is highly preferred; experience with rotating equipment is also considered.

• Strong business and financial understanding.

• Familiarity with new product development or stage-gate development methodologies.

• Experience in product strategy and roadmap development.

• Knowledge of product forecasting and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP).

• Proficiency in business case development.

• Experience with product launch and lifecycle management.

• Skills in product marketing and channel strategy development.

• Knowledge of product value engineering tools and techniques.

• Experience in cross-functional teams and matrix management.

• Ability to convert business objectives into actionable product strategies, roadmaps, and measurable outcomes.

• Capability to build consensus and influence decisions across a matrixed organization without direct authority.

• Strong communication skills to convey complex technical and business concepts to diverse audiences effectively.

• Ability to collaborate across regions, functions, cultures, and organizational levels.

• Insight into customer, market, competitive, and industry trends.

• Strong analytical thinking and financial analysis skills.

• Certification in Product Management Program and/or Project Management is a plus.

• LEAN / 6 SIGMA certification is advantageous.
