This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the roadmap for MeridianLink Collect, a cloud-based platform focused on collections and recovery for credit unions and community banks.
• Conduct ongoing discovery with collections managers, VPs of Collections, collectors, and compliance officers through interviews, usage analytics, and performance metrics.
• Create PRDs and user stories that encompass the entire delinquency lifecycle.
• Facilitate agile delivery ceremonies and manage a prioritized backlog that aligns with team OKRs.
• Establish and track collections product KPIs to guide prioritization and illustrate business impact.
• Collaborate with Engineering, UX, Sales, Customer Success, Implementation, and Compliance to ensure stakeholder alignment and remove delivery obstacles.
• Act as the collections domain expert, converting collector workflows into product requirements.
• Team up with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success on positioning, enablement, and proof points.
• Contribute to discussions regarding product portfolio strategy.
• Work alongside Compliance, Legal, and Security to interpret regulatory guidance into configurable platform controls.
• Evaluate emerging technology opportunities to enhance recovery outcomes and collector efficiency.
• Oversee product considerations for integrations with core banking systems and third-party vendors.
• Monitor consumer collections trends, delinquency and charge-off dynamics, competitive movements, and regulatory changes.
• A Bachelor's degree and over 2 years of relevant product management experience.
• Demonstrated success in owning a product area from start to finish: discovery, definition, delivery, and iteration.
• Experience in managing API-integrated software products involving multiple stakeholder groups.
• Strong grasp of agile methodologies and modern product discovery practices, including Jobs-to-Be-Done and continuous discovery.
• Proficient in using data and product analytics tools to inform decisions and evaluate outcomes.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities; capable of simplifying complex information and aligning diverse stakeholders.
• Deep understanding of customer needs and experience in translating user insights into tangible improvements.
• Comfortable operating within a regulated product domain where design choices may lead to compliance risks.
• Strongly preferred: experience with 0-to-1 product, module, or capability development.
• Strongly preferred: background in collections, recovery, loss mitigation, or default servicing.
• Strongly preferred: familiarity with FDCPA, Regulation F, TCPA, SCRA/MLA, FCRA/Metro 2, UDAAP, and CFPB supervisory expectations.
• Strongly preferred: experience in building compliance-by-design capabilities, including enforcement of contact limits, opt-out management, consent tracking, and audit trails.
• Strongly preferred: experience related to bankruptcy, repossession, charge-off, post-charge-off workflows, collection agency placement, or recovery vendor management.
• Strongly preferred: knowledge of Symitar/Episys, Fiserv DNA, Corelation/Keystone, FIS, and batch-plus-API integration patterns.
• Strongly preferred: understanding of ACH, card rails, Reg E error resolution, and PCI DSS.
• Strongly preferred: experience with AI/ML in regulated product environments.
• Strongly preferred: background working with or selling to banks, credit unions, or other regulated financial institutions.
