This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead the strategy, development, and enhancement of USGBC’s zero waste products and services, focusing primarily on TRUE and associated offerings.
• Establish, oversee, and progress product vision and strategy.
• Create and sustain product plans and roadmaps throughout development, maintenance, optimization, and retirement stages.
• Coordinate both internal and external resources to implement product plans effectively.
• Gather, analyze, and prioritize inputs from customers, staff, and the market.
• Champion users and customers by advocating their goals, challenges, and use cases.
• Collaborate across departments to achieve business, customer, and mission objectives.
• Work closely with Product Owners and delivery teams on planning, prioritization, testing, release, and maintenance activities.
• Oversee assigned products through their entire lifecycle.
• Monitor and evaluate product data to uncover opportunities for revenue growth, market impact, and customer satisfaction.
• Establish and track product goals and success metrics; report on progress, risks, and performance outcomes.
• Collaborate with finance, sales, and other teams to develop pricing strategies, packaging, and necessary revisions.
• Enhance sales effectiveness through the provision of enablement resources, guidance, and training.
• Foster continuous improvement and innovation throughout the product suite.
• Analyze target customer segments, market trends, regulatory and policy influences, and competitive landscape.
• Develop product management artifacts such as customer definitions, value propositions, and benefit statements.
• Assist in messaging, campaigns, and go-to-market strategies with market-facing staff.
• Supervise junior staff as necessary and manage contractors.
• 5-7 years of pertinent product management experience.
• Familiarity with the mission, internal operations, and stakeholders of USGBC and GBCI.
• Professional experience in sustainable resource management.
• Knowledge of zero waste concepts and practices and/or familiarity with the TRUE rating system.
• Bachelor’s degree (mandatory).
• Proven proficiency with Microsoft tools.
• Experience with one or more project/product management systems like JIRA, Notion, or ProductPlan.
• Capability to communicate complex issues clearly with peers, senior leadership, and key stakeholders.
• Ability to engage and build consensus across various leadership levels in a matrixed organization through collaboration and influence.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Robust analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Capacity to work and communicate effectively with a diverse team.
• LEED GA or AP accreditation or TRUE Advisor designation preferred.
• Advanced degree preferred.
• More than 7 years of product or program management experience in green building, commercial real estate, zero waste, or related fields preferred.
