This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead the strategic direction, prioritization, and execution of infrastructure products and services that support VA.gov.
• Own and oversee the product vision, strategy, roadmap, and backlog for VA.gov Platform Infrastructure Services.
• Set clear product objectives and measurable outcomes focused on infrastructure reliability, scalability, security, performance, and developer experience.
• Cultivate a profound understanding of the infrastructure products and services utilized by VA.gov engineering teams.
• Convert engineering requirements, operational risks, user research, platform strategy, and governmental priorities into actionable product initiatives.
• Balance investments in new capabilities, modernization, reliability, technical debt, security, operational enhancements, and developer experience.
• Identify dependencies and establish sequences across key infrastructure initiatives.
• Articulate Infrastructure Services priorities and roadmap decisions to Platform leadership, engineering teams, and government stakeholders.
• Treat cloud infrastructure, deployment environments, shared services, and infrastructure tools as products utilized by VA.gov engineering teams.
• Foster strong relationships with government stakeholders, engineering leadership, Platform teams, and teams building on VA.gov.
• U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required.
• Capability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
• Bachelor’s Degree.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience as a Product Manager or Product Owner for technical products, cloud infrastructure, developer platforms, enterprise software, or internal engineering services.
• Strong product management competencies, including strategy formulation, roadmap development, prioritization, backlog management, and Agile delivery.
• Proven ability to collaborate closely with infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, or software engineering teams.
• Technical proficiency with cloud infrastructure and modern software delivery methodologies.
• Knowledge of cloud computing, containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD, networking, environments, observability, and production operations.
• Experience in translating complex technical initiatives into clear product outcomes and priorities.
• Familiarity with using operational metrics, user feedback, and both qualitative and quantitative data to guide product decisions.
• Experience in defining KPIs and assessing product outcomes.
• Reliable internet service that enables effective telecommuting.
• Standard business hours are Monday through Friday; occasional extended or weekend hours may be necessary based on operational requirements.
