This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Take charge of the LSAC Advising Portal product backlog by developing, prioritizing, and sustaining features, enhancements, and fixes in line with product strategy.
• Collect advisor feedback through direct relationships, structured feedback mechanisms, and community involvement.
• Convert advisor needs into actionable product requirements.
• Establish acceptance criteria and ensure clarity with the development team.
• Collaborate with the software development team throughout the product lifecycle and make decisions regarding scope.
• Oversee user acceptance testing, bug tracking, and coordination of customer feedback.
• Engage in sprint reviews and agile ceremonies.
• Track product usage and advisor feedback to evaluate performance and guide product decisions.
• Investigate tools, market trends, and related products to inform the product roadmap.
• Create and present product updates and status reports to users and internal stakeholders.
• Foster and maintain relationships with prelaw advisors across various institution types.
• Coordinate community engagement strategies, communications, and programming with the Director of Prelaw Advising.
• Represent LSAC at events, webinars, conferences, and LSAC Law School Forums that engage advisors and prelaw audiences.
• Assist in onboarding new advisors and serve as a point of escalation for product inquiries.
• Offer subject-matter expertise to Prelaw Engagement initiatives, presentations, and content creation.
• Direct the activities of Prelaw Engagement staff regarding Advising Portal issues; no formal supervisory responsibilities.
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
• A minimum of three years of professional experience in prelaw advising, law school admissions, or a closely related role serving prospective law students.
• Experience in gathering and acting on feedback from a professional community.
• Extensive knowledge of prelaw advising and law school admissions, acquired through direct professional experience.
• Proven systems thinking: experience in building programs, workflows, or reusable resources that serve a broad audience.
• Evidence-oriented approach: tracking outcomes, collecting data, and differentiating between individual requests and community needs.
• Demonstrated ability to complete defined projects successfully.
• Proficiency in translating concepts among advisors, admission professionals, students, and technical teams.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Strong writing and editing abilities.
• Capability to prioritize and defer requests with well-founded reasoning.
• Willingness to accept feedback and revise decisions based on evidence.
• Curiosity about the design and development of software products; no technical expertise required.
• Commitment to complete LSAC-provided product training within three months.
• Ability to work the necessary hours to fulfill assignments satisfactorily.
• Capability to regularly write, read, communicate effectively, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
• Flexible remote work arrangement.
