Product Management Trainee, Bilingual Mandarin

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Gather and evaluate user feedback, customer requests, product data, and market insights to uncover opportunities for product enhancement.

• Engage in feature planning, brainstorming sessions, user journey mapping, and solution design.

• Create requirement documents, user flows, wireframes, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria under the guidance of the Project Manager.

• Oversee the progress of features from the discovery phase through design, engineering, and launch.

• Analyze product data and user feedback post-launch; identify issues and suggest improvements.

• Participate in user interviews and feedback sessions with Shopify merchants and ecommerce brands.

• Monitor competitors and generate detailed competitive analyses.

• Transform user insights and market signals into practical product recommendations.

• Work collaboratively with engineering, design, QA, operations, and customer success teams on product delivery.

• Track project milestones, identify issues early, complete assigned tasks, and conduct retrospective analyses after launches.

• Gain insights into product planning, user research, data analysis, and project management through hands-on experience.

• Aim to take ownership of a product module or workstream independently.


⛳️ Requirements

• Recent graduate from a US university with a BS or MS, or within 1–2 years of graduation.

• All majors are welcome; preferred fields include Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Engineering, Economics, or Design.

• Internship experience in product management, product operations, business analysis, user research, software development, or within a SaaS company is advantageous.

• Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is mandatory.

• A genuine interest in internet products, SaaS, or the technology sector, along with a desire to pursue a career in product management.

• Awareness of user experience and attention to product details.

• A curiosity for new technologies, coupled with a commitment to continuous learning and rapid adaptation.

• Ability to quickly learn across various business contexts, product logic, and technical concepts.

• Structured thinking skills, capable of deconstructing complex problems and deriving clear conclusions.

• Comfort in making product decisions based on data and user insights.

• Strong sense of ownership, proactive problem-solving abilities, and follow-through on tasks.

• Results-driven, capable of gathering information, coordinating resources, and executing plans in uncertain environments.

• Detail-oriented and meticulous, balancing execution speed with quality of delivery.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, design, and business teams.

• Open to receiving feedback and engaging in constructive, practical discussions.
