Product Lead Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as the technical expert within development teams, making implementation choices and resolving technical conflicts.

• Oversee the complete delivery of intricate backend, frontend, and mobile features from design to deployment and monitoring.

• Break down unclear requirements into clearly defined tasks.

• Recognize and mitigate technical debt, performance issues, and reliability concerns.

• Consistently contribute production code while serving as a player-coach and exemplifying engineering standards.

• Perform constructive code reviews.

• Guide and mentor software engineers through pairing, design conversations, and offering technical advice.

• Promote best practices in testing, branching, documentation, and security.

• Work closely with Product, QA, and Customer Success teams to clarify requirements, estimate workloads, and ensure timely feature delivery.

• Relay technical risks, progress updates, and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Manage significant product areas while maintaining expertise in their architecture, behavior, and potential failure modes.

• Facilitate knowledge sharing and engage in cross-training initiatives to enhance team resilience.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

• Over 5 years of professional software development experience, particularly in production SaaS environments.

• In-depth knowledge of PHP and JavaScript / React, including design patterns, performance optimization, and security best practices.

• Strong understanding of relational database design, SQL optimization, and data modeling (MySQL / MariaDB).

• Proven ability to mentor and enhance the skills of less experienced engineers.

• Familiarity with AI-driven engineering tools and workflows.
