Product Lead Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Asia.

📋 Description

• Act as the global product legal lead for Binance, offering regulatory and legal insights throughout the entire product lifecycle—from concept through launch to ongoing operations.

• Provide counsel to product teams regarding the regulatory implications of new features, enhancements, and market expansions across various jurisdictions.

• Oversee the evaluation and mitigation of regulatory risks within Binance's product portfolio, which includes spot and derivatives trading, payments, digital assets, and emerging sectors.

• Collaborate directly with product managers, engineers, compliance, risk, and business development to integrate legal and regulatory considerations into the product development process.

• Develop and sustain scalable product compliance frameworks and controls that facilitate growth in diverse regulatory landscapes.

• Serve as a crucial decision-maker in product governance discussions, balancing regulatory adherence with business goals and user requirements.

• Lead interactions with regulators and external legal advisors regarding product-related issues across various jurisdictions.

• Stay informed of global regulatory advancements and convert them into practical guidance for product and business teams.

• Conduct cross-functional workshops and training sessions to enhance regulatory awareness throughout the organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Licensed to practice law in a prominent jurisdiction, with substantial international regulatory legal experience.

• Over 10 years of experience in regulatory legal positions, ideally in-house at a technology, financial services, or cryptocurrency firm.

• Extensive knowledge of global financial product regulations, encompassing spot and derivatives trading, payment systems, and digital assets.

• Demonstrated success in collaborating closely with product and engineering teams to influence product decisions.

• Experience in managing intricate regulatory compliance issues and engaging with regulators across multiple jurisdictions.

• Proven experience in leading and scaling legal teams across different regions.

• Strong stakeholder management abilities—capable of establishing trusted relationships with regulators, business leaders, product teams, and external legal counsel.

• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.

• Solid business acumen with a practical, solutions-focused mindset.

• Profound understanding of the cryptocurrency sector and its rapidly changing global regulatory environment.
