Product Engineering Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Denmark.

📋 Description

• Oversee the daily operations of the API and frontend teams, ensuring obstacles are removed, deliverables are reviewed, and progress is maintained.

• Establish and uphold exceptional engineering standards focusing on performance, reliability, and well-structured APIs.

• Take ownership of the technical design for features and the API interface that connects Keet's core functionality with the application.

• Collaborate with the API team and specialized tech groups on code reviews, design discussions, and engine-related tasks.

• Work in partnership with Keet's product managers to transform vision and roadmap into clearly defined and actionable projects.

• Address discrepancies between defined scope and reality while suggesting improved methodologies.

• Provide an engineering perspective in product decisions that involve peer-to-peer functionalities.

• Utilize AI tools and rapid prototyping to assess and validate concepts.

• Define team objectives and establish criteria for measuring success.

• Guide team leads and enhance team operations and collaboration across teams.

• Report directly to the CTO and follow product directives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in managing engineers or engineering leads who deliver consumer products, preferably in chat, calling, or social applications.

• Strong understanding of product dynamics.

• Insight into distributed systems and local-first architectures.

• Knowledge of offline-first strategies and eventual consistency principles.

• Extensive expertise in JavaScript and React.

• Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, resilience, and the capacity to provide and accept constructive feedback.

• Bonus: Experience with local-first applications, CRDTs, synchronization engines, offline-capable mobile or desktop applications, or contributions to open source projects.
