Product Engineer – Senior/Staff

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver new customer-oriented features and product lines from inception to completion alongside the CEO and Head of Product.

• Develop automation solutions for sales tax compliance, which include filing pipelines, state portal submissions, payment infrastructure, and human-review workflows.

• Design and maintain the customer dashboard, onboarding processes, monitoring and reporting tools, as well as internal tax operations tools.

• Collaborate closely with the tax operations team to pinpoint automation issues and devise scalable, precise solutions.

• Extract customer registrations from external platforms and automate data as well as approval workflows.

• Calculate liabilities, prepare tax returns, submit filings, reconcile confirmations, and manage edge cases.

• Convert intricate compliance workflows into straightforward, efficient user interfaces.

• Engage in architectural decision-making and challenge technical or product trajectories when necessary.

• Ensure quality through effective testing, clean system interfaces, and maintainable code.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5–10+ years of engineering experience, with significant time spent delivering full-stack products within small teams.

• Proficient in React and TypeScript.

• Experience in owning features from start to finish, including design collaboration, backend contract formulation, and production deployment.

• Practical experience in developing full-stack applications.

• Strong product judgment and focus on user experience.

• Ability to transform vague problem statements into functional products.

• Openness to engage in direct and honest discussions regarding technical or product direction.
