Product Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Belgium.

📋 Description

• Develop products and refine features from concept to production.

• Make informed decisions regarding product and technical tradeoffs.

• Evaluate usage data to determine if features should be built or further enhanced.

• Create end-to-end prototypes and conduct thoughtfully small experiments.

• Identify design edge cases and propose simpler solutions.

• Reassess product concepts when complexity exceeds their value.

• Monitor outcomes after features are released.

• Work collaboratively with Product, Design, and other engineering teams.

• Operate asynchronously with minimal meetings.

• Utilize AI for coding, debugging, codebase exploration, prototyping, writing tests, and reviewing concepts.

⛳️ Requirements

• A product engineering mindset focused on building products rather than merely completing tasks.

• Proven experience in making product and technical tradeoffs.

• Capability to take projects from concept to production.

• Proficient in PHP, Symfony, and Postgres for backend development.

• Familiarity with React and some Next.js for frontend development.

• Openness to using AI for coding, debugging, codebase exploration, prototyping, testing, and concept review.

• Willingness to engage in both frontend and backend work instead of remaining solely specialized.

• Ability to work within approximately ±2 hours of CET.

• Preference for candidates based in Europe.

• Must be prepared to advocate for the use of AI in serious software engineering tasks.
