Product Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the entire product lifecycle, from rapid prototyping to production, focusing on the agent-building experience, user workspace, and agent-generated applications.

• Design and develop the agent runtime pipeline that translates plain-language descriptions into reliable agents.

• Create the workspace that enables users to comprehend, manage, and trust their agents.

• Develop infrastructure that allows agents to produce usable trackers, dashboards, and tools.

• Ensure production reliability, encompassing evaluations, error management, and systems for consistent agent output.

• Oversee the technical roadmap pertaining to agent runtime, workspace/applications, and reliability.

• Make architectural decisions that consider speed, reliability, cost, build versus buy, and the balance between human and AI responsibilities.

• Deliver working prototypes swiftly and refine validated features for production readiness.

• Utilize specialized AI agents to expedite implementation processes.

• Recruit and shape the initial engineering team.

• Collaborate directly with the GM while providing robust product and UX insights.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven track record of delivering production software, ideally with experience as a founder or early engineer at a product-centric startup.

• Proficiency in TypeScript across the entire stack.

• Some experience with Go where applicable.

• Expertise in at least one of the following areas: LLM application design and production AI reliability; real-time data infrastructure; or developer-facing products and internal tools.

• Strong product instincts that link technical decisions to user outcomes and business impact.

• Ability to quickly prototype and subsequently solidify features with testing, edge case handling, and reliability enhancements.

• Genuine interest in messaging applications and productivity, or AI messaging applications and AI technology.

• Capacity to defend technical decisions and adapt direction in response to new evidence.

• Strong technical writing and communication skills.

• Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to tackle problems without straightforward solutions.

• Ability to utilize AI agents as a force multiplier.

• A commitment to craftsmanship while effectively delivering results.

• Experience with AI products, productivity tools, or chat applications is advantageous.

• Experience in developing consumer-facing productivity or messaging applications is a plus.

• Familiarity with the quality and competitive landscapes of AI and productivity products is a bonus.

• Experience with LLM evaluations, hallucination mitigation, or production AI reliability at scale is a bonus.

• Experience with real-time streaming architectures and event-driven systems is a bonus.

• A public portfolio, open-source contributions, publications, blog posts, or personal projects is a bonus.

• Comfort working across the stack, from backend services to frontend UX, is a bonus.
