Product Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Define and take ownership of the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Horizontal in collaboration with the CPO and the wider leadership team.

• Propel customer-focused product innovation aimed at growth, retention, and monetization throughout buyer and seller experiences.

• Spearhead AI transformation initiatives within the horizontal domain.

• Oversee the incubation, development, and transition to a fully agentic horizontal marketplace.

• Manage a product organization consisting of approximately 15 individuals, with a focus on experimentation, documentation, and identifying upstream opportunities.

• Collaborate closely with engineering and commercial teams across various markets to ensure product development aligns with business objectives.

• Identify and pursue strategic opportunities, including innovative monetization strategies, cross-market enhancements, and long-term positioning within the category.

• Establish and scale best practices in product ideation and execution.

• Recruit, mentor, and nurture a high-performing team of product managers and leaders.

• Collaborate with senior stakeholders in finance, commercial, and other departments to create consensus around strategy and priorities.

• Serve as a thought partner and collaborative peer to other product and business leaders in shaping the future of OLX.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience leading product teams in online B2C/B2B2C settings, preferably in marketplaces, e-commerce, or classifieds.

• Experience in managing two-sided marketplaces involving consumer buyers and sellers.

• Strong practical background in product management, including product development and close collaboration with engineers and commercial stakeholders.

• Several years of experience in hiring, developing, and directly overseeing Product Managers at various career stages, ideally leading teams of around 15 individuals.

• Comfort working within cross-functional, multicultural teams across multiple markets.

• Ability to balance a long-term vision with short- and medium-term objectives.

• Experience in both the initial creation and scaling phases of product development.

• Proven ability to transition between domains and sectors, with a quick learning aptitude.

• Experience in developing and managing AI-driven products.
