Product Design Lead – Design System

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Uphold exceptional standards for layout, typography, color, spacing, visual hierarchy, and digital finishing across reusable elements.

• Design, construct, and sustain scalable component libraries.

• Define interactive behaviors and state transitions for various components.

• Organize and maintain design tokens to ensure consistency between design environments and coding practices.

• Manage complex Figma variants, properties, and components efficiently.

• Collaborate with engineering teams across Web, React, Flutter, Android, and iOS/Native platforms.

• Develop usage guidelines and documentation for effective component governance.

• Promote the adoption, efficiency, cross-platform consistency, quality of documentation, and scalable architecture of the design system.

• Engage in portfolio reviews, recruiter calls, senior leadership interviews, design leadership challenges, and final executive discussions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in building, scaling, and maintaining production-ready design systems.

• Profound understanding of constraints and guidelines across Web, iOS, and Android platforms.

• A portfolio that illustrates systems thinking and scalable design decisions across various products.

• Strong familiarity with how developers inspect, build, and utilize components within code repositories.

• Advanced knowledge of Figma, including libraries, auto-layout, components, variants, variables, and library publication.

• Solid understanding of accessibility standards, WCAG, contrast requirements, and principles of inclusive design.

• Familiarity with React, Flutter, and the Atomic Design methodology.

• Exceptional writing and presentation skills.

• A resume and portfolio that highlight leadership in managing design teams, driving strategy, and delivering user-centered solutions with measurable business impact.

• Case studies that showcase leadership and development of designers, prioritization and management of projects, team culture enhancement, and the application of research, data, and experimentation.
