Product Design Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Investigate and prototype product concepts to pinpoint effective solutions

• Advance features to the production front-end stage

• Assist in identifying which challenges and features are valuable to develop

• Engage with users, rigorously test problems, and refine scope with the product team

• Create supervisory interfaces for an agent-native platform, including triage queues, confidence and citation patterns, and dashboard-replacing briefings

• Leverage AI throughout research, design, prototyping, construction, and testing while exercising discretion over its outcomes

• Take ownership of performance, accessibility, cross-device functionality, and the quality of responsive interfaces

• Collaborate within a product team alongside software engineers responsible for foundational systems

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in designing and delivering front-end products to production

• Track record of owning product challenges, making experience-related decisions, and independently shipping solutions

• Strong design sensibility and aesthetic judgment

• Product intuition, including the capability to refine scope and validate with actual users

• Proficiency in modern web codebases and AI tools across research, design, prototyping, construction, and testing

• Awareness of AI failure modes and the capacity to assess AI-generated results

• Expertise in designing data-intensive, high-stakes interfaces for demanding professionals

• Ability to engage credibly with experienced insurance professionals

• Competence in managing performance, accessibility, cross-device functionality, and responsive interfaces

• Strong candidates may have backgrounds in design, engineering, or related fields

• Candidates should possess experience at a professional level

• Openness or ability to work as a contractor
