Product Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as a vital legal partner for the Product and Engineering teams.

• Provide counsel throughout the entire product lifecycle, from initial design to launch.

• Proactively identify and mitigate legal risks.

• Enforce privacy-by-design principles.

• Offer practical advice regarding HIPAA/HITECH and state privacy regulations.

• Conduct privacy assessments for new features, including those powered by AI.

• Draft and update legal documents intended for users.

• Provide guidance on data-sharing and vendor integration matters.

• Collaborate with the Marketing team on advertising and consumer protection issues.

• Create scalable legal resources.

• Work in conjunction with Security, Compliance, Operations, and Finance departments.

• Elevate issues to senior leadership when necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

• Active membership in the bar.

• 3 to 6 years of experience advising product and engineering teams on privacy and technology issues.

• Strong background in healthcare privacy and data protection.

• Familiarity with AI/ML technologies.

• Experience in intellectual property law.

• Knowledge of advertising law.

• Exceptional communication abilities.

• Good judgment in balancing risk with business speed.
