This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
β’ Lead the comprehensive procurement process for designated material categories, from the award of the project to the final delivery at the project site.
β’ Oversee team performance, achieve delivery outcomes, and manage procurement activities that are critical to the schedule.
β’ Supervise and mentor a team of procurement buyers.
β’ Ensure alignment of procurement actions with construction sequencing across multiple concurrent EPC projects.
β’ Act as the main point of contact for supplier execution.
β’ Monitor the execution of purchase orders and assess SLA performance.
β’ Serve as the primary escalation contact for issues related to delivery, commercial matters, or quality concerns.
β’ Oversee the creation of initial purchase orders at the time of project award or manage this process directly.
β’ Develop and maintain Material Procurement Schedules, which include engineering dependencies, must-order-by dates, and on-site requirement dates.
β’ Identify long-lead items that require procurement prior to the completion of full engineering.
β’ Facilitate discussions around pre-order timing with Engineering and Project Management teams.
β’ Assist with risk authorization workflows.
β’ Guide and mentor Buyers in structured and documented expediting processes.
β’ Monitor delivery performance by comparing promised versus actual outcomes across the category portfolio.
β’ Escalate complex or high-risk procurement, supplier, or delivery issues while retaining responsibility for resolution.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline; or a suitable combination of education and/or experience.
β’ A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in construction project delivery, procurement, or project engineering roles specifically within gas-fired power generation projects is required.
β’ 2 to 3 years of experience in a leadership role is necessary.
β’ Willingness to travel approximately 15β25% (to project sites, supplier facilities, and the Avon/Blattner campus).
β’ Direct experience managing long-lead material procurement on EPC projects is highly preferred.
