This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Develop and implement the enterprise strategy, operational model, and governance framework for managing third-party vendors.
• Create standards, policies, procedures, and controls that govern the entire vendor lifecycle.
• Align the vendor strategy with business objectives, priorities in healthcare operations, financial targets, member experiences, and quality outcomes.
• Formulate and sustain a comprehensive vendor portfolio strategy and segmentation.
• Offer executive recommendations regarding outsourcing, insourcing, vendor consolidation, strategic partnerships, and sourcing opportunities.
• Supervise executive oversight of strategic and critical vendor relationships.
• Establish vendor KPIs, SLAs, quality metrics, performance guarantees, scorecards, and reporting mechanisms.
• Lead executive business reviews alongside vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Assess vendor performance and guide corrective actions and performance enhancement plans.
• Manage vendors that support essential healthcare functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory, contractual, accreditation, privacy, security, quality, and continuity standards.
• Lead vendor-related audits, regulatory assessments, investigations, risk evaluations, and remediation processes.
• Collaborate on strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, renewals, amendments, and terminations.
• Oversee vendor financial performance, expenditures, pricing, utilization, invoicing, savings, and value realization.
• Provide executive oversight for vendor selection, due diligence, implementation, transition, optimization, renewal, and termination processes.
• Manage complex vendor transitions and enterprise initiatives.
• Monitor vendor risk and coordinate responses to critical vendor events.
• Lead, develop, and retain a high-performing vendor management team.
• Cultivate partnerships across Operations, Clinical, Finance, Procurement, Legal, Compliance, IT, Risk, and other enterprise functions.
• Create executive reports, dashboards, analytics, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field.
• Over 10 years of progressive experience in vendor management, healthcare operations, outsourcing, procurement, third-party management, or a related field.
• More than 5 years of leadership experience, including overseeing teams, enterprise programs, strategic vendor relationships, or complex cross-functional initiatives.
• Familiarity with managed healthcare operations and highly regulated healthcare environments.
• Capability to develop and execute enterprise-level strategies and operational models.
• Knowledge of vendor governance, contract management, SLA/KPI development, performance management, financial oversight, and third-party risk management.
• Experience in managing strategic or complex third-party vendor relationships.
• Executive presence with the ability to communicate effectively with senior and executive leadership.
• Outstanding negotiation, analytical, strategic planning, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Skill in influencing across organizational boundaries and leading in complex, matrixed environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication, along with executive presentation skills.
• Interpersonal skills, including coaching staff, conflict resolution, project implementation, and collaboration.
• Ability to select, motivate, evaluate, train, and develop team members.
• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, diverse, performance-oriented organization.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and vendor management, contract management, GRC, business intelligence, or reporting platforms.
• Must possess a valid and current Driver's License, Auto Insurance, and relevant professional licensure(s).
• Advanced computer skills in MS Office applications.
• Preferred qualifications include a master's degree, experience with managed healthcare vendors, Medicare Advantage/Medicaid/commercial health plan experience, delegated vendor oversight, strategic sourcing, cost optimization, executive reporting, and relevant professional certification.
