This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Oversee sourcing and procurement activities for a diverse array of goods and services, managing the process from identifying business needs to supplier selection, negotiation, contracting, and implementation.
• Formulate sourcing strategies informed by business requirements, supplier landscapes, spending habits, competitive dynamics, incumbent performance, and opportunities for value creation.
• Facilitate RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, supplier assessments, bid analysis, and negotiations.
• Negotiate supplier pricing, fee structures, service agreements, renewal terms, price protection clauses, termination rights, and other commercial terms.
• Assess supplier proposals and contract economics through both quantitative and qualitative analysis.
• Prepare recommendations and business cases to support supplier and purchasing decisions.
• Collaborate with Legal and business stakeholders throughout contract negotiations.
• Manage supplier renewals while identifying opportunities for cost reduction, consolidation, service adjustments, and market testing.
• Cultivate strong supplier relationships while upholding commercial accountability.
• Enhance purchasing processes, minimize unnecessary expenditures, and improve procurement efficiency.
• Assist with purchase orders, contract processes, procurement systems, policies, and controls.
• Analyze procurement and spending data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
• Present financial analyses, sourcing recommendations, supplier comparisons, and procurement updates to management.
• Simultaneously manage multiple sourcing, contracting, and supplier initiatives.
• Oversee the daily administration of the corporate insurance program.
• Coordinate annual insurance renewals and create renewal decision documentation.
• Maintain documentation regarding policies, coverage limits, premiums, deductibles, renewals, certificates, and other relevant materials.
• Manage requests for certificates of insurance and evidence of coverage.
• Analyze contractual insurance requirements and pinpoint potential coverage gaps.
• Assist with claims administration and communication with stakeholders.
• Review costs associated with the insurance program and alternatives.
• Serve as an internal contact for routine inquiries regarding insurance.
• Develop and refine procurement policies, procedures, templates, reporting, and operational practices.
• Foster relationships across Finance, Legal, IT, Human Resources, Marketing, Operations, and other departments.
• Provide guidance to business partners regarding assumptions, alternatives, and sound commercial decisions.
• Stay informed about developments in procurement, supplier markets, commercial practices, insurance, and risk management.
• Lead or assist in special projects and cross-functional initiatives.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supplier management, or related commercial fields.
• Proven ability to independently lead complex supplier negotiations and sourcing initiatives.
• Extensive procurement experience across various spending categories, supplier types, and business functions.
• Competence in independently managing the complete procurement lifecycle.
• Strong sourcing and negotiation skills with proven measurable commercial results.
• Excellent commercial judgment.
• Superior analytical and quantitative abilities.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and establish credibility with senior leadership.
• Strong project management and organizational capabilities.
• Familiarity with procurement, contract lifecycle management, ERP, and related business systems.
• Experience with Coupa or similar source-to-pay platforms is preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in PowerPoint and other standard business applications.
• Experience in corporate insurance, risk management, or insurance brokerage coordination is preferred but not mandatory.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or a comparable combination of education and relevant professional experience.
• Willingness to travel occasionally based on business needs.
• Capability to meet critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication demands.
• Ability to work beyond 40 hours per week when necessary for business needs.
