Process Transformation and Software Engineering Specialist, AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Map the value stream of the software factory, from the intake of demand to support.

• Identify bottlenecks, delays, handoffs, rework, knowledge gaps, risks, and quality failures.

• Create and manage a prioritized backlog of AI and automation use cases.

• Define hypotheses, baselines, metrics, success criteria, and stop criteria for proof of concepts (POCs) and pilot projects.

• Redesign delivery workflows prior to automation.

• Integrate AI within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), covering requirements, architecture, design, coding, review, testing, security, CI/CD, observability, and support.

• Build or oversee the development of prototypes, agents, RAG solutions, integrations, templates, libraries, and reusable components.

• Collaborate with platform engineering to provide secure self-service pathways, approved models, observability, and cost controls.

• Establish controls and governance for AI-generated code and artifacts, including human review, testing, security analysis, intellectual property management, and privacy (LGPD).

• Promote solution adoption across teams through training sessions, community engagement, office hours, collaborative work, and champion programs.

• Measure and report on flow, quality, security, cost, experience, and adoption outcomes to illustrate business value.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in areas such as production software engineering, delivery, platform engineering, DevOps, Quality Engineering (QE), Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), architecture, or technology process transformation.

• Proven experience leading projects from diagnosis and problem framing through to implementation, production deployment, or measurable adoption.

• Practical understanding of the SDLC, Agile/Kanban/Lean frameworks, Git, testing methodologies, CI/CD, code review processes, and software operations.

• Hands-on experience with generative AI, LLMs, copilots, RAG, agents, or intelligent automation in engineering or process contexts.

• Capability to critically assess AI outputs, recognizing hallucinations, vulnerabilities, inconsistencies, limitations, and the necessity for human review.

• Proficiency in defining operational metrics, establishing baselines, interpreting telemetry, and communicating results without conflating tool activities with genuine value.

• Characteristics of ownership, systems thinking, effective communication, empathy, the ability to influence without formal authority, critical judgment, and a readiness to learn from data.

• Preferred qualifications include experience with platform engineering, developer experience, DORA/SPACE metrics, or process mining.

• Preferred knowledge of Python, TypeScript/Java/JavaScript, RAG, vector databases, agent orchestration, LLMOps/MLOps.

• Preferred experience in DevSecOps, Identity and Access Management (IAM), compliance, legacy modernization, test automation, and change management.
