This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Deliver automation, instrumentation, and controls engineering expertise to PS-Vestolit manufacturing facilities.
• Create qualification protocols and ensure the validated status of systems and processes.
• Provide support for automation, instrumentation, and control systems related to process, utility, and production operations.
• Assist with automation-related projects that possess large and/or complex scopes.
• Lead strategic initiatives aimed at optimizing manufacturing processes across PS-Vestolit locations.
• Enhance efficiency, decrease cycle times, and boost reliability by identifying best practices and implementing new technologies.
• Develop PS-Vestolit’s organizational proficiency concerning technology enablement.
• Collaborate with the Global Operations VP, PS-Vestolit Plant Managers, and Control Systems Engineers to formulate a technology strategy that aligns with business goals.
• Identify and implement initiatives that incorporate innovative technology and digital tools for data-driven decision-making.
• Construct and maintain digital dashboards utilizing real-time plant/manufacturing data, including an Alarm Management System.
• Support the PS-Vestolit automation strategy by aligning global standards with local manufacturing requirements.
• Establish the baseline for data quality.
• Collaborate with IT/OT and Operations stakeholders to guarantee data integrity and compliance across automated platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or a related engineering or scientific field.
• Master’s degree in Process Control or an equivalent field is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the design, implementation, and/or support of control systems, ideally in the chemical industry.
• Advanced expertise in DCS, PLC, HMI, SCADA architecture, Industry 4.0/IIoT, and manufacturing dashboards.
• Proficient in requirements gathering, design, configuration, integration, and implementation of automation solutions within the manufacturing sector.
• Familiarity with PLC/DCS systems, field bus technology, HMI packages and panels, OPC, SCADA systems, historians, and field instrumentation.
• Experience with both continuous and batch automation applications.
• Understanding of process optimization analytics, including predictive quality, predictive throughput, predictive energy efficiency, and autonomous automation technology.
• Knowledge of holistic digital architecture and Process Control systems.
• Comprehension and experience with Big Data/Analytics, AI/ML, and emerging technology trends.
• Significant leadership experience in automation within chemical plants.
