Pro Fee Medical Coder

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Analyze and interpret clinical documentation to accurately assign diagnosis, procedure, and evaluation and management (E/M) codes.

• Utilize ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, HCPCS Level II, and modifier coding guidelines in accordance with official coding conventions and regulatory standards.

• Code physician services across inpatient, outpatient, and ancillary encounters.

• Ensure adherence to CMS, Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payer, and specific client coding requirements.

• Identify gaps in documentation and communicate the need for coding clarifications.

• Achieve established turnaround times, productivity benchmarks, and quality expectations while managing workload autonomously.

• Engage in coding audits, quality assessments, educational sessions, and process enhancement initiatives.

• Stay updated on coding revisions, regulatory changes, payer policies, and industry best practices.

• Collaborate with coding leadership, auditors, and client representatives to address coding-related challenges.

• Contribute to revenue cycle optimization through precise and timely coding practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in inpatient and outpatient medical coding for physician fees.

• Familiarity with Inpatient, Long Term Care, Observation, Emergency, Same Day Surgery, Clinic Visits, and Ancillary service encounter types.

• Experience in specialty services such as cardiology, dentistry and oral/maxillofacial surgery, dermatology, endocrinology, otolaryngology (ENT), gastroenterology, hematology/oncology, infectious disease, internal medicine, musculoskeletal/orthopedic medicine, nephrology, neurology, obstetrics and gynecology, optometry/ophthalmology, anesthesiology, pain management and palliative care, psychology, pulmonary medicine, rheumatology, general surgery, plastic surgery, and urology.

• Active AAPC or AHIMA coding certification is required.

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively in a remote setting.

• Epic experience is highly preferred.

• Candidates must be based in Miami, Florida, USA.
