This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +5 more states.
β’ Act as a trusted privacy advisor for Arity, the mobility and technology subsidiary of Allstate.
β’ Offer strategic guidance on U.S. state privacy laws, GDPR, global privacy frameworks, data governance, emerging technologies, and regulatory compliance.
β’ Perform intricate legal analyses related to laws, regulations, exemptions, and compliance obligations.
β’ Collaborate with privacy program leaders on current and forthcoming privacy, data governance, and AI regulations.
β’ Provide counsel to advertising, marketing, and product teams regarding audience creation, activation, measurement, attribution, tags, pixels, SDKs, consent management, and consumer choice mechanisms.
β’ Offer advice on matters pertaining to the Fair Credit Reporting Act involving consumer report data.
β’ Lead privacy support for data licensing, data supply, clean room arrangements, strategic partnerships, and other data-driven initiatives.
β’ Guide stakeholders on data strategy, governance, provenance, permitted use rights, disclosures, sharing, licensing, retention, and lifecycle management.
β’ Work collaboratively across legal, product, technology, marketing, data, compliance, and business teams.
β’ Anticipate developments in legal and regulatory frameworks, identify risks, and formulate solution-driven strategies.
β’ Conduct risk-benefit assessments and deliver actionable recommendations.
β’ Advise business partners on emerging legal, regulatory, technology, and risk management challenges.
β’ Implement legal strategies, drive action plans, and enhance communication and alignment among business units and legal stakeholders.
β’ Travel as necessary to support business goals and team collaboration.
β’ No supervisory responsibilities.
β’ Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree is required.
β’ Must hold an active license to practice law and be in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
β’ A minimum of 7 years of progressive legal experience within a law firm and/or in an in-house legal department supporting a mid-sized to large organization.
β’ Demonstrated proficiency in privacy, advertising technology (AdTech), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), technology transactions, commercial contracting, data governance, and/or other highly regulated sectors.
β’ Experience providing advice within corporate structures, including parent companies and affiliated entities.
β’ Proven ability to deliver strategic legal counsel that balances risk management with business goals.
β’ Leadership experience in building, developing, mentoring, and guiding high-performing teams.
β’ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
β’ Strong business acumen to evaluate legal and operational risks, create business cases, and quantify return on investment.
β’ Experience in effective budget management and resource planning.
β’ Strong project management capabilities.
β’ Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
β’ High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion with sensitive and confidential information.
β’ Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other technology tools pertinent to legal practice and business operations.
β’ Background investigation is required.
β’ A dedicated, private workspace free from distractions is needed when working from home.
β’ Reliable internet connection with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload is necessary.
