This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee and guide Patient Support Associates to enhance medication adherence, facilitate prior authorizations, and provide financial assistance.
• Administer support at designated hospitals and clinics to guarantee timely medication delivery to patients.
• Ensure that Patient Support service-level objectives and contract stipulations are fulfilled.
• Manage ADP, PTO, and time reporting for team members.
• Audit supported systems and oversee responsiveness to new requests.
• Offer frontline supervision, coaching, performance management, and professional development opportunities.
• Supervise communications between Patient Support and clinical teams.
• Collaborate with hospital partner management during calls and workflow assessments.
• Develop agendas, facilitate meetings, and ensure follow-ups for Patient Support team sessions.
• Maintain records and notes for collaboration calls and team meetings.
• Provide daily guidance, troubleshooting, and workflow support.
• Establish effective workflows with liaison, clinical integration, and on-site management teams.
• Contribute to company growth initiatives and special projects.
• Report hiring requirements, assist with the interviewing and onboarding process, and coordinate access for new hires.
• Organize training sessions with the Clinical Training Team.
• Manage overflow tasks during periods of short staffing or increased workload.
• Conduct research for data analytics and contracting teams.
• Oversee on-site pharmacy relations and workflows, including claims reversals, delivery slips, care coordination, and phone communications.
• Uphold discretion and confidentiality regarding sensitive information.
• Lead team members in both remote and on-site Shields hub environments.
• Report directly to the Director or Manager of the Patient Support Center.
• Current State pharmacy technician registration/licensure in the state of employment.
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) is mandatory.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a pharmacy technician required.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in specialty pharmacy is preferred.
• Leadership experience is highly desirable.
• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Bachelor's degree is preferred or actively pursuing a degree.
• Training in leadership/management theory is preferred.
• Strong communication, leadership, interpersonal, organizational, operational management, and project management abilities.
• Ability to train, motivate, and manage Patient Support team members effectively.
• Capability to manage workload, prioritize tasks, and achieve deliverables.
• Must maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive health information.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word; knowledge of Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint is also required.
• Excel proficiency should include basic formulas, data manipulation, graph creation, and moderately advanced skills.
• Strong phone communication skills are essential.
• Familiarity with pharmacy dispensing or EMR systems; knowledge of Willow, Qs1, and RX30 is advantageous.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% if necessary for remote positions outside Shields core locations.
