This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Rhode Island.
β’ Directly communicate with insurance providers to facilitate medication approvals through prior authorizations.
β’ Assist patients in accessing financial aid via foundations, manufacturer programs, and other funding resources.
β’ Navigate pharmacy operating systems to input data, adjudicate claims, process refills, and develop follow-up action plans.
β’ Document patient concerns, updates on prior authorization status, and financial assistance requirements across databases, electronic medical records, and email systems.
β’ Collaborate with physicians' offices to ensure timely and suitable medication therapy.
β’ Maintain thorough and accurate records of patient communications and case activities.
β’ Aid patients with pharmacy insurance claims and issues related to coverage.
β’ Partner with pharmacists and pharmacy liaisons to provide coordinated patient care.
β’ Offer phone support to enhance medication adherence and compliance.
β’ Research, investigate, and analyze information for effective decision-making and problem resolution.
β’ Manage, organize, and maintain data within database applications.
β’ Identify trends, suggest process enhancements, and contribute to initiatives focusing on operational excellence.
β’ Act as a reliable business partner to organizational stakeholders.
β’ Safeguard confidential information and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
β’ Stay updated through ongoing education, professional publications, and networking.
β’ Occasionally travel as business needs dictate.
β’ Carry out additional duties as assigned.
β’ At least 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
β’ Strong skills in customer service and patient communication.
β’ Preferred experience in insurance claims, medication access, prior authorizations, or pharmacy operations.
β’ High School Diploma or GED is required.
β’ Rhode Island State Registered and/or State Certified Pharmacy Technician, where applicable.
β’ National certification (CPhT or equivalent) is strongly preferred but not mandatory.
β’ If the candidate's state does not provide pharmacy technician registration, national certification is required upon hiring.
β’ Must obtain any additional required credentials within an agreed-upon timeframe, if applicable.
β’ Continued employment is contingent upon maintaining the necessary licensure and certification requirements.
β’ Strong computer skills.
β’ Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
β’ Ability to navigate the internet and web-based platforms.
β’ Data entry and computer skills will be assessed through a pre-employment evaluation.
