CIC Pharmacist – Long Term Care

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Offer clinical support services to long-term care dispensing pharmacies across various states.

• Conduct clinical assessments and interventions related to prescribed medication therapies.

• Handle rejected clinical claims by requesting covered alternatives from prescribers and updating orders as per their responses.

• Initiate prior authorizations or medical exceptions utilizing patient medical records.

• Provide Medication Therapy Management services to enhance the safe and effective use of medications.

• Create patient-specific therapeutic interchange requests and modify orders based on prescriber feedback.

• Apply facility formulary preferences for upcoming medication changes during dispensing.

• Manage specific requests from national accounts or multi-chain customers.

• Work Monday to Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., with every third weekend required; no on-call duties involved.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or a higher degree.

• Valid pharmacy license in good standing in the state of residence.

• Expertise in clinical interpretation of drug-drug, drug-disease, and drug-food interactions, as well as allergies.

• Capability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Openness to obtaining a pharmacy license in South Carolina.

• Willingness to acquire licenses in additional states as necessary.

• Familiarity with long-term care regulations, including OBRA, OSHA, state laws, and other federal laws is preferred.

• Preference for licensed pharmacists with credentials in multiple states.
