Prior Authorization Assistant, Cardiology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Manage prior authorizations directly, often handling a high volume

• Act as a primary resource for fellow Ascertain Assistants

• Supervise automated submissions for office visit referrals, procedures, pharmaceuticals, and more

• Partner with Ascertain leadership and product teams to develop AI-driven prior authorization workflows

• Collaborate with healthcare providers to alleviate administrative burdens and enhance workflows

• Review and confirm insurance details and patient eligibility

• Collect medical documentation and information from healthcare providers

• Submit prior authorization requests to insurance providers

• Monitor and track authorization requests to ensure timely processing and resolution

• Respond to inquiries from providers, patients, and insurers regarding authorization status

• Maintain precise authorization records, including approvals and denials

• Work with internal teams to address authorization issues and enhance process efficiency

• Keep abreast of insurance policies, regulations, and industry trends

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of experience in prior authorization and billing within Cardiology

• Proficient with athenahealth and/or NextGen

• Knowledge of major payors such as UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, and Blue Cross Blue Shield

• Experience in client relationship management is advantageous

• Practical leadership experience, including roles like Team Lead, Supervisor, or informal leadership, is a plus

• Experience in engaging with C-suite executives is an advantage

• Must be detail-oriented, collaborative, adaptable, empathetic, and process-driven
