Print Operations and Procurement Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Strategically plan each print run in reverse from the teaching calendar, coordinating quantities and order dates with the Production team.

• Research and evaluate suppliers based on unit cost, lead time, and terms.

• Provide supplier recommendations supported by thorough analysis.

• Prepare purchase orders for approval by the budget owner and place orders once approved.

• Monitor orders from confirmation through to delivery.

• Reconcile invoices with approved purchases and address any discrepancies.

• Maintain comprehensive supplier records, including pricing, lead times, terms, and delivery history.

• Report on print and other purchasing expenditures categorized by brand and run.

• Identify potential opportunities for cost reduction.

• Communicate Design and Quality specifications to suppliers.

• Escalate supplier-related issues to the Design and Quality team within Production.

• Advocate for the transition from manual processes to more efficient tools.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in independent purchasing management, including soliciting quotes, comparing suppliers, and placing orders, with documented records.

• Experience in developing cost comparisons that influenced purchasing decisions and resulted in savings or cost avoidance.

• Familiarity with tracking orders from the purchase order stage to delivery and invoice, including issue resolution.

• Experience in establishing a supplier tracking system, price list, or spending report utilized by others.

• Ability to plan a print run, production batch, or delivery schedule that adheres to a fixed timeline.

• Capability to compose clear recommendations for budget owners.

• Proficiency in spreadsheets, including the use of formulas, lookups, and maintainable models.

• Knowledge of printing processes, such as paper types, binding methods, and cost drivers is advantageous.

• A background in education or educational publishing is preferred.
