This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
• Deliver continuous Systems Administration support for VMware environments across diverse locations.
• Install, manage, and troubleshoot hardware, software, applications, and connectivity components.
• Provide technical assistance and guidance on storage, database systems, and networks.
• Resolve daily incident tickets and ensure system compliance.
• Improve system operations, testing, staging, policies, and procedures.
• Facilitate client communication and offer operational recommendations to enhance availability and reliability.
• Take a leading role in developing VMware systems strategy throughout the organization.
• Distribute work assignments, maintain workload balance, and offer technical and procedural guidance to less experienced team members.
• Align systems design and strategy with corporate business goals and objectives.
• Convert long-term business needs into systems and infrastructure design.
• Provide leadership for hardware and software systems support.
• Offer advice on unique, complex, or critical business issues.
• Evaluate and document existing VMware solution architectures.
• Design and propose high-availability VMware solutions, including server clustering and VMware-based infrastructure.
• Create migration strategies, implementation roadmaps, and bills of materials for VMware environments.
• Ensure VMware solutions are effectively integrated into the Operations support practice.
• Collaborate with account teams to collect operational knowledge and aid in transition planning.
• Validate VMware solutions against recovery objectives through design reviews.
• Review and maintain disaster recovery documentation, runbooks, and supporting materials.
• Assist with planned disaster recovery testing activities.
• Monitor and assess VMware disaster recovery infrastructure capacity across on-premises and cloud environments.
• U.S. Citizenship and residency are required.
• BA/BS degree with 8+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Expert-level knowledge in VMware systems administration and enterprise infrastructure design.
• Demonstrated capability to lead technical teams and provide advice on complex, critical business issues across the organization.
• Experience with Microsoft Server, including clustering.
• Experience with Linux Servers, including clustering.
• Familiarity with disaster recovery and high availability in cloud environments, specifically Oracle OCI and Microsoft Azure.
• VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP).
• VMware Certified Professional (VCP).
• ITIL Foundation certification or higher.
